Why the Smokies?

Welcome!  The goal of Why The Smokies? is to help you discover the wonders of the Great Smoky Mountains of east Tennessee. Whether you’re goal is to visit, vacation, or own a piece of this beautiful, wonder-filled area, you’ve come to the right place.

Start by looking at “See Why,” and then explore the communities from college-town Maryville to Park-bordering Townsend, Top of the World, Wears Valley, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.  Spend some time in the “Gallery”  with photos of Great Smoky Mountain National Park. And laugh with me as I explain my “Lessons of the Mountains” –  mostly learned the hard way. Whatever your interests, you’ll likely find something here that interests you.
